1. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (IATA: NBJ) – New Airport

Location: Approximately 50 kilometers (28 miles) east of Luanda’s city center, in the Bom Jesus commune of Icolo e Bengo municipality.
Airport Highlights: Angola’s new flagship gateway features two parallel runways that can accommodate wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380. Its modern terminal is designed to handle up to 15 million passengers annually and offers 31 boarding gates, extensive parking, plus a wide range of shopping and dining options.
Getting to the City:
- By Car or Taxi: Travel time to the city center is approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic. Reliable taxi services and private ride-hailing options are available.
- By Bus: Shuttle and intercity buses connect the airport to Luanda’s main terminals. Travel by bus typically takes 60–75 minutes, and schedules may vary.
- By Train: A new railway line directly connects the airport to Bungo Station in central Luanda, offering a convenient and efficient alternative to road travel.

2. Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport (IATA: LAD) – Former Main Airport

Location: Roughly 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) from Luanda's downtown area.
Details: Once the main international airport, LAD now handles non-commercial aviation, including executive jets, flight training, and aircraft maintenance operations.
Travel to City Center:
- By Car or Taxi: Just a 10–15 minute drive, making it extremely convenient for travelers already in the city.
- By Bus: Public buses and minibuses frequently serve the route between the airport and the city, with travel times around 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.
