President and Chief Executive Officer of ACDI/VOCA .Sylvia J. Megret serves as President and CEO of ACDI/VOCA Group, a leading global development and design and delivery partner. Working with sponsors, partners, and participants, ACDI/VOCA and its affiliates devise and apply development solutions based on over 60 years of expertise in sustainable agriculture, resilience, equity and inclusion, access to finance, and economic opportunity. ACDI/VOCA helps countries sustainably improve key economic sectors as partners in program development and implementation across the public and private sectors to foster broad-based economic growth, raise living standards, and support vibrant communities. AV Ventures provides innovative, catalytic financing to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Africa, Central Asia, and Latin America. Tanager connects people and partners—including foundations and corporations—to unlock shared market opportunities. Fundación ACDI/VOCA Latin America (FAVLA) works with public and private entities in Colombia and throughout Central and Latin America to generate inclusion, positive social impact, economic prosperity, and sustainable development. 
A global development executive with 30 years of experience, Sylvia joined ACDI/VOCA in December 2016, first serving as chief operating officer (COO) and later as president and COO from February 2021 to April of 2022. She has proven expertise in building high-functioning, diverse teams that bridge functions, cultures, and international borders to create sustained, positive change.
An active, dedicated leader in development and beyond, Sylvia currently serves as board chair of FAVLA and as a board member of the Society of International Development’s U.S. Chapter (SID-US). She led ACDI/VOCA’s role as a founding member of the Coalition for Racial and Ethnic Equity in International Development (CREED) and is also a founding member of Chief (Washington). Additionally, Sylvia serves as the Advisory Council Chair for the Center of Excellence for Global Food Security and Defense at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Sylvia holds a master’s degree in international development from American University and a bachelor’s degree in political science and French from the University of Michigan. She is fluent in English and French, and her work has taken her across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
