Dr. Edwin Gorataone Dikoloti, the Minister of Health and Wellness (Botswana), Current World Health Organisation (WHO) Executive Board Member and Vice Chair, WHO Africa Region is a seasoned Agriculturalist in both regulatory and retail, a Veterinarian by training. He graduated from the University of Queensland (Australia) with Bachelor of Veterinary Science and was further awarded Honors in Veterinary Science. He also attained a Certificate in Risk Management.

Prior to joining politics, Dr. Dikoloti was one of the leading consultants in the private sector and played a vital role in the establishment and development of different animal production value chains in Botswana, notably the dairy, beef and poultry sector. He has served on different Boards of Directors and Committees and he is a strong advocate for One Health.
Dr. Dikoloti has rich knowledge in strategy development, change management, advocacy and stakeholder management. He has contributed immensely to the growth and development of animal health and production having previously worked in the public service and the private sector for almost 12 years.

In his political career, he has led the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Security (2019- 2020) and currently leading the Ministry of Health and Wellness since August 2020, where he is pioneering the revitalization of Primary Health Care through promoting a people centered primary health care.

An enthusiastic community development mobiliser, Dr. Dikoloti has and continues to dedicate his life to serve, unearth, develop and promote creative arts within various rural communities. Over years, he has pioneered and transformed various sports tourism initiatives targeting the youth.
