Speaker Bio
David Aldrich is the founder of Aldrich Partners Limited and a senior financial services executive with more than three decades of Managing Director-level leadership across global capital markets.
His current focus is advising GCR Ratings on its strategy to grow the pan-African credit rating agency from 740 ratings in 33 countries into a franchise many times larger. The ambition reaches beyond commercial growth: by widening access to credible, locally relevant credit ratings, GCR is helping to develop local currency debt capital markets across the African continent, broadening the base of investable issuers and supporting deeper domestic funding.
Alongside this, David works as an executive coach to business leaders addressing their career development opportunities. He holds an Executive Coaching Certificate and an Advanced Group Coaching qualification from INSEAD, and applies the systems psychodynamic Person/Role/Organisation (PRO) model to help leaders gain clarity, understand the dynamics of their organisations and move forward with purpose. He has coached Managing Directors, C-suite executives and high-potential talent across the UK, Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Africa.
David's career spans UBS, Credit Suisse, JPMorgan, BNY and Moody's Ratings. Most recently he was Managing Director and Head of the Commercial Group, EMEA at Moody's, where he worked from 2013 to 2026, responsible for annual revenues of circa USD 1bn across fundamental and structured finance credit ratings, representing the firm at multiple forums including the IMF World Bank meetings. At BNY he led the commercial team that grew the hedge fund business into a top-three global provider.
He brings board-level governance experience across regulated entities in the UK, Belgium, Luxembourg and Ireland, has engaged directly with the FCA, ESMA and the Bank of England, and served for 15 years on the MBA Advisory Board of Bayes Business School.
