Name
From Commitment to Commerce: Delivering on the Promise of U.S.-Africa Partnership
Date & Time
Wednesday, December 9, 2026, 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Description

Summits are defined not by the conversations they generate, but by the actions they inspire. As this Summit concludes, the measure of its success will be whether the commitments made, the connections forged, and the deals initiated across three days of high-level engagement translate into sustained commercial momentum — investment deployed, partnerships deepened, and opportunities realized on both sides of the Atlantic.  This Closing Plenary convenes senior U.S. and African government officials, private sector leaders, and development finance institutions to chart the path from dialogue to execution. Speakers will identify where momentum is already building across infrastructure, energy, digital transformation, critical minerals, and industrial development — and define the specific policy, financing, and coordination mechanisms needed to accelerate deal flow, remove implementation barriers, and deliver measurable outcomes in the months ahead.  The session will also address the evolving role of the United States as a partner in Africa's private sector-led growth — examining how U.S. government tools, development finance institutions, and commercial relationships can be better aligned to support the next chapter of U.S.-Africa commercial engagement. The plenary will close with a forward-looking call to action: a shared agenda that holds all stakeholders — governments, investors, and business leaders — accountable for turning the promise of this Summit into the prosperity it represents.
