Nono Malefane joined Visa in 2020 as the Senior Director, Government Engagement for Sub Saharan Africa. She is responsible for managing Visa’s government relations in the region comprising 50 countries. She is based in Johannesburg and her role includes regulatory affairs and partnerships to enable digital payments, in collaboration with industry stakeholders, including national governments, central banks, international development institutions and the non-profit sector.

She has more than 15 years experience in government relations, public policy and consulting. Prior to joining Visa, she was at the Absa Group and EY where she held senior positions in government relations, public affairs and strategic planning.

Nono has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
